I normally don’t rant on this blog but I want to post about this. This game is the number 1 indie game I’m looking forward to right now. I owe a lot of my stylistic choices in pixel-art to this game, and to Konjak in general. Also he’s a good bud <3
I feel like The Iconoclasts doesn’t get the attention it deserves, and that really saddens me. It hasn’t made it into the IGF twice in a row, not even for Excellence in Visual Arts, which is fucking ridiculous considering some other games that have been in the IGF. It has every bit of potential to become the next Cave Story, and yet people seem to not give it any real attention?
It’s one of those games that feels like what games used to be, but more. There’s a lot of cool details and the world really feels alive. It also doesn’t feel like it’s sacrificing story for gameplay or vice versa, which is kind of rare in games lately it seems.
I dunno guys, I just really love this and I can’t wait til it’s done.
